What are Datasite alternatives for a founder-led sale?
Datasite is the default when a bank is running the process.
Datasite does not publish a seed or SMB price: quotes are customized per transaction.
For a founder-led sale, pick a published-price room you can approve without a call.
That is a substitute for the quote, not a substitute for a banker.
Founder-led vs banker-led (definition). Banker-led: the advisor picks the VDR the other side already knows. Datasite and Intralinks win that row.
Founder-led: you are assembling the packet and sending the link. A published monthly price is the usual substitute.
They are sequential. Moving to Datasite later is normal.
Which room for which sale?
If a bank is running the process, the other side already expects Datasite Diligence or Intralinks. That is the job Datasite wins. Pricing is customized per transaction. See How much does Datasite cost?. There is no public seed or SMB figure on Datasite’s own site.
If you are selling without a bank, and a buyer is already in LOI, you need a room you can approve without a call. Published monthly prices are the substitute for that quote. They are not a substitute for a banker. If the buyer has never heard of Datasite, start from best data room for a small business sale.
Each row has a winner. A table that pretends otherwise is not useful.
| Situation | Default | Published-price substitute | Do not use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Banker-led process, other side expects Datasite | Datasite (or Intralinks) | None. This is not a substitute job. | A published-price SMB room as if it were the bank's VDR. |
| Founder-led sale, buyer already in LOI, no bank | You pick. Drive is not this job. | SecureDocs $250/month annual, Digify Pro $140/month, Cashpian $100 / mo per company. | A Datasite quote to impress one buyer. |
| Fundraising packet, not a sale | DocSend for the deck, then a room. | Not Datasite. See DocSend or a data room / seed data-room cost. | Opening Datasite for a raise. |
| Need a 24/7 deal manager / Project Pro | Datasite Assist | None. Published-price rooms generally do not staff this. | Generic 24/7 support as if it were a deal manager. |
| Need translation / IRM after download / a 90-day bank process | Datasite (or Intralinks) | None. Do not pretend otherwise. | A founder room as a cross-border bank process. |
See What is Cashpian? for the company. This page is the founder-led split, not a best-of.
What the published prices actually are
SecureDocs is a flat fee. The annual plan is $250/month paid annually, unlimited users and documents. The 3-month plan is 400 USD per month billed quarterly. Both figures are on SecureDocs’ product page, retrieved 2026-09-12. The Help Center repeats the annual $250/month and says shorter terms exist.
Digify Pro starts at $140/month, with three data rooms, up to 50 guests, and 100GB. That is Digify’s own figure, dated 8 October 2025, and still on their VDR page as of 2026-09-12. The live catalog is digify.com/pricing.
Cashpian Standard is $100 / mo per company, or $1,000 / yr. See pricing. It is one published-price option. It is not ranked first.
Ansarada is a quote builder, not a static dollar. Preparation is free until the room goes live or 90 days, whichever comes first. See Ansarada pricing, retrieved 2026-09-12.
If this is a raise, not a sale
Datasite is the wrong tool for a fundraising packet. Stay on DocSend for the deck. Switch to a room for the cap table, model, contracts, and IP. Drive is enough before that. The split is Should a seed founder use DocSend or a data room?. Cost is how much a data room costs for a seed round.
What belongs in the packet depends on the company. Deep tech is what should be in a deep tech fundraising data room. Drive as the working folder is Google Drive vs a data room for investor diligence.

If the files are already in a folder, grade which row they are on. Cashpian is a gated room for that packet. It is not a listing portal. It does not sell the company or run the deal.
